Why ENA Foundation

When you give to the ENA Foundation, you contribute to more than just a scholarship or research grant. You’re fueling the future of emergency nursing — a profession that saves lives.

You help students obtain their nursing degree during a time when the ED is seen as a safety net in communities around the world. You make it possible for nurses to make an impact — from helping set health policy and best practice, to performing research or teaching at a university on some of the biggest challenges in emergency care. You also make it possible for nurses to attend the largest emergency nursing conference so they can share new knowledge with their colleagues and incite positive change.

About ENA Foundation

The ENA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization whose mission it is to provide educational scholarships and research grants in the discipline of emergency nursing. Since 1991, the ENA Foundation has provided over $2.7 million in educational scholarships and research grants to emergency healthcare professionals.

How You Can Help

Please consider making a gift to the ENA Foundation annually, so we can continue to fund the future of the profession. Whether for an academic scholarship, research grant, or endowment, your contribution makes a difference in the lives of emergency nurses and the patients they care for.

What does it mean to “endow” a fund with the ENA Foundation?

Endowment funds help secure the ongoing future of the ENA Foundation by providing continual support. Endowment gifts are retained in perpetuity and cannot be spent; the investment earnings from the endowed funds provides annual awards to recipients. The amount awarded each year is dependent on the ENA Foundation’s spending policy, which is developed to provide a predictable stream of funding. While each endowed fund is accounted separately, each fund’s balance is pooled with other ENA Foundation endowment funds, increasing its potential for investment return while further strengthening its earning potential.

How can I set up an endowed fund with the ENA Foundation?

Endowed funds may be initiated with a gift of any amount and a signed agreement to fully fund the endowment within five years. Endowments are frequently funded by cash gifts, but they may also be funded by transfers of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and other types of property. Gifts toward endowed scholarships may also be made by bequest. Please contact the ENA Foundation for additional information or assistance.

State Fundraising Challenge

The 2020 State Fundraising Challenge is here!

Each year, ENA state councils and local chapters wage a friendly competition in support of the future of emergency nursing. In fact, the ENA State Fundraising Challenge is the ENA Foundation’s largest source of funding! From January 23 through May 31, the ENA Foundation is accepting donations that will go toward helping the best and the brightest achieve their goals.

State councils and chapters participate in helping empower emergency nurses through gifts that will fund academic scholarships. States may even gain the privilege of naming their own academic scholarship the following year.

Is your state ready for the challenge?
